The Vector series is a line of group operated switches designed for superior performance in three phase loadbreak switching while remaining competitive in price. The Vector is available in ratings of 25 through 38kV, 150 through 200kV BIL, 900A continuous, 600A and 900A loadbreak. The 25kV switch unit is used in all applications below that, such as 15kV. The three phase unit is completely factory assembled and adjusted. This adjustment includes the three main component groups of the switch unit which are: the base assembly, the insulators, and the “hot parts.” The standard Vector switch Interrupters are bolted to each of the three phases and factory adjusted. The unique base assembly consists of a 3” x 5” galvanized steel or 4” x 6” fiberglass tubular housing, heavy bronze journal bearings, “O” rings with covers and stainless steel end caps (black lewtex with the fiberglass base) which enclose the operating mechanism of the switch for complete weather protection. The internal operating mechanism incorporates an innovative balanced force concept for ease of operation by balancing the leverage forces on the rotating insulators.

ENCLOSED OPERATING MECHANISM • Unique push-pull action of the two interposing rods balance the forces acting on the insulator shaft
• Location of the mechanism is mounted about the neutral axis of the crossarm allowing minor deflections of the crossarm without causing blade misadjustment

UNITIZED DESIGN

• A true unitized switch; crossarm is drilled on CNC machining center to locate pole positions
• No field adjustment necessary other than the normal final assembly of the vertical operating shaft and the operating handle
SINGLE POINT LIFT BRACKET

• Installed and tested on the balance point of the switch before leaving the factory provides for easy installation
HIGH PRESSURE SILVER BUTTON JAW CONTACTS

• A pair of silver buttons provides very high contact pressure while still allowing easy movement of the blade in and out of the jaw area
• Operation of the switch helps keep the jaw contacts clean and cool
SILVER TO SILVER HINGE CONTACTS

• Silver washers for hinge action, (2) on each side
• Provides excellent electrical connection
• Maintains good mechanical bearing service
DEADENDINGS

• Deadending provisions for all three conductors is standard on all horizontal styles and optional on others
HOT PARTS

• Copper hot parts; 3/8” x 2” bus bar copper blades standard; ½” x 2” on 1200A switches
